Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)

NLP is a collection of different methods (on the basis of the discoveries of linguistics, Neuro physiology, Behavior therapy, Hypnosis, System theory and psychology) for work with humans. NLP shows us the direction in which we are steered by experiences, and how we create such experiences.

Into the 70th two American scientistc Dr. John Grinder and Dr. Smelling Bandler looked for the answer what is the secret of particularly successful therapists. They directed their attention toward the most well-known therapists in the USA: Fritz Perls (founder of Gestalt therapy), Milton Erickson (developer of therapeutic Hypnosis) and Virginia Satir (founder of the family therapy). They observed in detail how people behaved, the way in which they moved, their method of communication, their thought patterns, and their values. Thus the attitudes and perceptions of the 3 therapist’s attentions were given to the internal conception world.

From this Bandler and Grinder discovered specific communication samples and fundamental structures. They filtered and concentrated on the most substantial discoveries, in order to develop the NLP from them. Thus it became, for the first time, possible to mediate other humans abilities, those previously known as genius, talent or intuition and which were regarded as unattainable.

Neuro stands for the nervous system and our 5 senses (Hear, Smell, Taste and feeling).

Linguistic stands for our verbal and nonverbal language: To recognize in which sense we are guided and how we orient ourselves. Words bridge our internal world with the outside world. Thus language becomes the individual expression of our subjective perception.

Programming concerned with the development of individual behaviors, and attitudes, which are active in us as 90% unconscious and 10% conscious.

Three cooperating perception ranges are important in interhuman communication.

» Behavior is that which humans say and do.

» That which humans think represents the internal processing of experiences in pictures, internal dialogue and feelings.

» That which humans believe represents their worth. For example: Faith.

Therefore each human has his own completely individual style in order to view the world, to react to it and learn from his experience. Depending on what we notice in our environment and us, will be what we think and feel. As we evaluate something, a situation can be experienced as good and pleasant or in another instance as difficult and oppressive.

NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) examines our thoughts, feelings, actions and collective perception filters and helps us thereby, to understand us and those who are opposite to us. Try one of these alternatives or see Help for hints on refining your search.

A goal of the methods in the NLP is the activation of all the human senses and the extension of our experiences and thoughts, so that it is good for life, new options to discover, to rediscover our creativity and intuition and personal resources. NLP is a communication model and makes possible the use of human abilities, which are normally present in life, to overcome problems.

For this work there are different proven intervention examples in the Neuro linguistic programming (NLP). In addition, there are completely individual ways to bring about efficient short term changes. The measure of value is actually the usefulness for the particular and not the truth. I.e. in the NLP the truth term are irrelevant. Therefore whatever is true or wrong only separates whether this is helpful or less helpful for the patient’s life practice. Humans do not orient themselves by objective truths, but separate at invented and/or provided subjective “maps” and experiences. The principle work of the NLP consists in revealing new internal maps, to provide useful conditions, if the pre-learned ways are limiting and excellent new ways are missing.

From my experience NLP makes it possible for the therapist, to gain a completely new, and individual way in to the patient, by going on the same level of the patient. Above all the patient feels at once understood. This is the most important condition to motivate the patient towards change.

The different Neuro Linguistic Programming interventions can be helpful to the patient to overcome unwanted restrictions in his life and attain new behavioral patterns. In this way the patient can be released from old habits, such as fears and limiting faith. NLP offers more options to the patient to react, to communicate, to think and also feel. With NLP the patient can learn to lead the life, for which he himself longs, and which has previously been beyond the patient’s ability to conceptualize.

Beyond that, the patient can recognize, from the work with NLP, that he can attain, and first of all also receive his personal health, how stress is to be reduced and how his own welfare needs are activated. The fundamental question behind it reads thus:
“What is the difference between someone who recovers from an illness, and another person who remains ill with that same illness?”

In the IGH Sonnenhof become qualified, and recognized by the supervising federation (DVNLP), and offered Neuro Linguistic Programming and health training to achieve the basic skills and fundamental models and/or methods in the Practitioner mediation, while in recess and development of the learned material in the NLP - developing Master Practitioner training takes place.
